At ABC Custom Framing, we believe every piece tells a story—and every story deserves to be preserved with care. Since 1965, we've proudly served Denver from our longtime home in University Hills Plaza, helping our community transform memories, artwork, and keepsakes into lasting treasures.

Founded as a custom frame shop and wholesale supplier, ABC evolved under the care of several passionate owners. In 1989, Carol Mahoney shifted the shop toward books and posters, with framing as a smaller focus. Her daughter, Maureen Coleman, returned the business to its framing roots in the early 2000s, reviving the ABC Custom Framing name.

In 2014, the Maes family took ownership, bringing a rich background in fine art and gallery curation. They expanded the space into The Hideout—a contemporary gallery and creative collective supporting local and underrepresented artists, offering studios, exhibitions, and outreach programs designed to foster connection and creativity.

Today, we offer museum-quality custom framing, expert design, and a warm, collaborative space for art and community to thrive. We’re honored to continue this legacy—and grateful to Denver for over 60 years of trust and support.
